Kakarakaya Pulusu(bitter guard soup)


Ingredients:
3 Bitter guards(Remove the ends & cut into small pieces)
2 onions(cut into small pieces)
3 tbs.sugar/jaggery
1 lemon size tamarind(soak and make juice)
pinch of turmaric powder
salt for taste
1 tbs sesame seeds powder


Tampering:
3 tbls.oil
1 red chilli
1 ts.mustard seeds
1/2 menthi
1/2 jeera
little hing

Method:

1.Put a pan on a low flame.Cook the bitter guard pieces covering with a lid turning now & then(without oil)for 10-12 minutes. Once it is cooked add 2 tbls.oil and onion pieces. Fry till onions become brownish.
2.Add tamarind juice,turmaric powder and salt. Let it boil for 10 minutes. Add sugar/jaggery to it.
3.Take sesame seeds powder in a small container add 3 tbls.water,mix well and add to the soup.
4.Take ladle put on a low flame. Pour 1 tbps.oil and fry all the popu items and mix into the soup.
Goes well with hot rice.
