Dadhojanam



Ingredients :

Rice: 400 gm
Water: 2250 ml
Milk: 750 ml
Curd: 380 ml
Butter: 70gm
Salt to taste
Crushed pepper: 5 gm
Chopped ginger: 10 gm
Asafoetida powder: a pinch
Dry ginger: 5 gm

For tempering :

Ghee: 45 gm
Red chilli: 5gm
Mustard: 2 gm
Urad Dal: 5 gm
Channa Dal:10 gm
Curry leaves

Method :


1.Wash rice, strain and keep aside.Bring water to a boil in a vessel, add
rice. Cook till done.Strain excess water and allow to cool.

2.Then mix curd, butter and salt.Pour in the cold milk, chopped ginger,
asafoetida, crushed peppercorns and dry ginger powder.

3.Make a tempering of ghee with red chilli, mustard, dal and curry leaves.
Mix well and serve chilled.
