
Vada Pappu:
Ingredients
1 cup moong dal
2-3 tbsp grated coconut
chushed green chillies(optional)
1tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Salt to taste.
Fresh chopped cilantro to garnish.
Preparation
The moong dal should be soaked in warm water for about half an hour and drained.
To this, add all the other ingredients and mix well.
This dal is eaten raw and uncooked.

Chalimidi:
Ingredients;
1cup raw rice
2-3 tbsp chopped coconuts
1tbsp ghee
½ cup sugar or jaggery.
Water for syrup
½ tsp crushed cardamom.
Preparation
Pachi chalimidi (Raw or uncooked chalimidi):
1. For this the raw rice is soaked for 2-3 hours in warm water.
2.The rice is then drained and dried in a dry cloth untill completely dry and powdered coarsely.
3.This rice powder is then mixed with sugar or jaggery adding 1-2tsp water. Add grated coconut and crushed cardamom.
4.Mix well to make a dough.
cooked chalimidi:
1. Soak the rice in water for two hours . Drain the water and grind finely. Sieve to get very fine rice flour Fry gingil without ghee until turns to light brown with nice aroma .
2.Fry coconut pieces with a little ghee until they will turn to light brown color .
3.Add a little water to sugar and make very thick syrup Test for syrup: Take a little syrup with spoon and drop in water.
4.If you can make ball out of that from water, that is called thick syrup (Mudarapakam) Off the stow and add the wet rice flour little by little while mixing thoroughly to avoid lumps Then add the remained ghee, coconut pieces, fried gingil and Elachi powder.
5. Mix thoroughly and cover with lid. . When it will be cool down, make balls Store in a dry container for one month also

thank u verymuch for the pachi chalimidi recepie as till date i used to make it in my very own innovative way and everyone in my family used eat as prasadam but now my kids r asking me when will chalimidi puja come
